"Gentlemen Prefer" - Season 01, Episode 02

- by Karen Haviley

In Episode 2 we find the Doc settling in to his surgery... and getting used to his receptionist...and his patients. Easier said than done.

Elaine gets sacked (no surprise but what a mistake!), the dog won't leave him alone and the people of Portwenn have turned the surgery into a cafĂ©. And we finally get to see our favorite Doc's phobia in action (in all its disgusting detail)!
As much as he would like to leave behind this obnoxiously quaint little town... there's always Louisa.

Join us for a few laughs and take a listen to Gentlemen Prefer...

  1. I like the way Doc and Louisa's relationship develops slowly, almost in real time. My favorite part in this series is when Roger Fenn ask Louisa why it bothers her so much that the Doc doesn't come to see him. It is obvious that she feels guilty about being attracted to someone who is so cold. She longs for the Doc to be the kind of person worthy of her love. This is the first hint that she is really falling for the Doc. That's what I like about this show. There is so many layers and it is so subtle.

  2. Hi Jeff!
They have great writers, don't they? So well done.
And the acting? Not sure it gets much better than Clunes (I'm channeling LindaG when I say that, of course..!).

Thanks for the great comments. Glad you've joined this little Rock the Doc community!

  3. Hi Jeff,

I agree with you and thats just one of the many reasons we at RTDP love the show. Layers, characters, the development. I like to call it the perfect storm of shows.... Perfect.

Please keep listening and writing in.
